Digitalguider
Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use Digitalguider Social Poster, our website at https://digitalguider.com, and related services—including when you connect a Meta (Facebook) account or Facebook Page to the Service.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
Information you give us when you create or manage an account, use the Service, or contact support (for example, name, email address, organization name, billing details if applicable, and the content of your messages).
2.2 Information from Meta / Facebook
When you authorize the Service through Facebook Login or connect Facebook assets, we may receive:
- Identifiers and profile information permitted by the permissions you approve, so we can label connected channels and workspaces clearly.
- Facebook Page information for Pages you choose to connect, including Page names, identifiers, and metadata needed to operate the Service.
- Tokens and technical identifiers required to maintain the connection between your workspace and Meta (for example, access tokens and the permission scopes you grant).
For Facebook integrations, we request permissions that align with our current product implementation, including: pages_show_list, pages_manage_metadata, pages_read_engagement, and pages_manage_posts. We use these to discover Pages you can manage, support publishing workflows, read engagement-related data needed for product features, and manage Page-related metadata as required by the Service.
2.3 Content and usage data
Content you create, upload, or schedule through the Service (for example, posts, media, and drafts), operational logs, and usage information needed to run, secure, and improve the Service.
2.4 Technical data
Technical information such as device or browser type, IP address, timestamps, and similar diagnostic data for security, fraud prevention, and reliability.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (including connecting and managing Facebook Pages and related publishing workflows).
- Authenticate users and enforce access controls.
- Communicate with you about the Service, security, and support.
- Monitor and improve performance, security, and product quality.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information as “sale” is commonly defined in U.S. state privacy laws. We do not use Meta user data for surveillance or to build unrelated advertising profiles beyond what is described in this policy and permitted by Meta’s Platform Terms.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (for example, security, product improvement, and fraud prevention), and, where required, consent (for example, optional marketing or non-essential cookies, if we use them).
5. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us with hosting, storage, email delivery, security monitoring, or payment processing, under appropriate contracts.
- Professional advisers where required (for example, lawyers or accountants).
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their independent marketing.
6. International transfers
If we process data in countries other than your own, we use appropriate safeguards (for example, Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms) where required by law.
7. Retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, and security requirements. Connection data for Meta integrations is retained until you disconnect the integration or delete your account, subject to backup and legal retention limits.
8. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal information, and to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise rights, contact privacy@digitalguider.com. We may need to verify your request.
Meta / Facebook: You can remove the Service’s access to your Facebook account through your Facebook settings (Apps and Websites) at any time. Removing access may limit features that depend on Meta.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Third-party services
The Service integrates with Meta products. Meta’s collection and use of information are also governed by Meta’s policies. We encourage you to review Meta’s Data Policy and applicable Terms for Facebook and the Meta Platform.
12. California residents
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CPRA. You may designate an authorized agent as permitted by law.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on https://digitalguider.com (or a successor URL we provide) and revise the effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
