Privacy Policy — LinkedIn integration
This policy supplements our general Privacy Policy. It focuses on how we handle information when you use the Service with a LinkedIn developer application you authorize (for example, to schedule LinkedIn posts). If anything in the general policy conflicts with this LinkedIn-specific page as to LinkedIn data, this page controls for that data.
1. Overview
When you connect LinkedIn to the Service, we receive limited data from LinkedIn as needed to identify your account, maintain a secure integration, and carry out the actions you request—primarily composing, scheduling, and publishing content to LinkedIn according to your instructions.
We use LinkedIn only as described here and in the permissions you approve in the LinkedIn authorization screen. We do not use LinkedIn data for purposes that are unrelated to operating the Service.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
Information you give us when you create or manage an account, build posts or campaigns in the Service, or contact support (for example, name, email address, organization name, billing details if applicable, and the content of your messages).
2.2 Information from LinkedIn
When you authorize the Service through LinkedIn (for example, Sign in with LinkedIn / OAuth), we may receive:
- Identifiers and profile information permitted by the permissions you approve—such as a LinkedIn member identifier, and basic profile details needed to show which LinkedIn identity is connected.
- Professional context where you choose to post through an organization or other LinkedIn presence we support, such as names and identifiers needed to target the correct publishing destination.
- OAuth tokens and technical identifiers required to maintain the connection, refresh access, and call LinkedIn APIs on your behalf within the scopes you grant.
The exact fields and scopes depend on what LinkedIn displays at authorization time and what the Service requests to enable scheduling and publishing. We collect no more than is reasonably necessary for those features.
2.3 Content and usage data
Post text, media, links, drafts, and schedules you create in the Service; delivery or error information returned by LinkedIn’s APIs when you publish or attempt to publish; operational logs; and usage information needed to run, secure, and improve the Service.
2.4 Technical data
Technical information such as device or browser type, IP address, timestamps, and similar diagnostic data for security, fraud prevention, and reliability.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including connecting your LinkedIn account and publishing or scheduling posts you configure.
- Authenticate users, map workspaces to the correct LinkedIn identity, and enforce access controls.
- Communicate with you about the Service, security, and support.
- Monitor and improve performance, security, and product quality.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information as “sale” is commonly defined in U.S. state privacy laws. We do not use LinkedIn member data to build unrelated advertising profiles or for surveillance. Processing stays within what this policy describes and what LinkedIn’s developer terms allow.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on contract (to provide the Service), legitimate interests (for example, security, product improvement, and fraud prevention), and, where required, consent (for example, optional marketing or non-essential cookies, if we use them).
5. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- LinkedIn when required to perform actions you request (for example, creating a post through LinkedIn’s APIs).
- Service providers who assist us with hosting, storage, email delivery, or security monitoring, under appropriate contracts.
- Professional advisers where required (for example, lawyers or accountants).
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their independent marketing.
6. International transfers
If we process data in countries other than your own, we use appropriate safeguards (for example, Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms) where required by law.
7. Retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, accounting, and security requirements. Data relating to your LinkedIn connection (including tokens and connected-channel metadata) is retained until you disconnect LinkedIn in the Service or revoke access in your LinkedIn account settings, and/or delete your Service account, subject to backup and legal retention limits.
8. Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal information, and to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise rights, contact privacy@digitalguider.com. We may need to verify your request.
LinkedIn: You can remove the Service’s access to your LinkedIn account at any time through your LinkedIn account settings (for example, permitted/third-party applications). Revoking access may limit or disable features that depend on LinkedIn.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Third-party services
The Service integrates with LinkedIn. LinkedIn’s collection and use of information on its platform are governed by LinkedIn’s own policies (such as LinkedIn’s User Agreement and Privacy Policy). We encourage you to review those documents and LinkedIn’s developer terms applicable to applications you authorize.
12. California residents
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the CPRA. You may designate an authorized agent as permitted by law.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version at this URL (or a successor URL we provide) and revise the effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
